Red Mango, a retailer of all-natural nonfat frozen yogurt and fresh fruit smoothies, announced its first Louisiana store will open this fall at 1640 Hickory Avenue in Harahan.

The opening is thanks to a development agreement with Mark Graffagnini, a resident of River Ridge, who plans to open three Red Mango stores in Louisiana, beginning with the Harahan location. Graffagnini’s second store is planned for Baton Rouge.

“Harahan/River Ridge will be a great spot for our first location,” says Graffagnini, who also owns and operates Tree Medics tree service. “I know people who drive for miles to get their yogurt fix. And with a line of non-fat, all natural smoothies, parfaits, and teas, Red Mango is so much more than frozen yogurt. It’s the perfect nutritious treat for the health conscious community living or working near Elmwood.”

Located in the new Citrus Square Shopping Center on Hickory Avenue, construction is already underway on the Harahan location. The self-serve store will offer 10 yogurt flavors, including Red Mango’s core line-up—Original, Tangomonium, Pomegranate by POM Wonderful, and a seasonal flavor, as well as six additional all-natural nonfat flavors that rotate on a regular basis—all at around 100 calories per serving. Customers can garnish their yogurt with healthy, natural toppings including fresh fruit, nuts, and granola, and toppings like Fruity Pebbles and Cap’n Crunch.

“Red Mango’s yogurt is gluten-free, all natural, and loaded with probiotics. It’s really the only product of its type in the area,” Graffagnini says. “Plus Citrus Square is in a great neighborhood with high traffic. I can’t wait for people to try it.”
