In a special focus on Austin-based companies, CNBC will feature a segment on Schlotzsky’s Inc. (Nasdaq:BUNZ – news) to air Tuesday, Jan. 25 at 5:00 p.m. CST.

CNBC reporter Mike Hegedus taped the segment for his regular feature “On the Edge” while visiting Schlotzsky’s Inc. headquarters, flagship store and training center in Austin last week.

“The Edge” tracks emerging trends in business and the financial markets and features predictions from analysts and business leaders.

Schlotzsky’s Inc., founded in Austin in 1971, is a franchisor of quick-service restaurants featuring made to order sandwiches served on distinctive sourdough bread, along with pizzas, salads and soups. As previously announced, as of Sept. 30, 1999, there were 760 Schlotzsky’s restaurants operating in 37 states, the District of Columbia and 12 foreign countries. Systemwide sales for the trailing twelve months ending Nov. 30, 1999 were $401 million.
