Slim Chickens announced it has inked a deal for seven locations in the parishes of Rapides, Lafayette, East Baton Rouge, St. Tammany, and Ascension.

Spearheading the new stores are husband and wife team, Brandon and Rachel Thompson, behind the reputable multi-unit operating group, AOM LLC., which currently hosts a development deal with Freddy’s Frozen Custard and Steakburgers in Louisiana and possesses a Walk-Ons in Louisiana, Texas, and Arkansas markets. Noticing Slim Chickens’ location in Fort Smith, Arkansas down the street from one of the group’s Walk-Ons locations, the Thompsons value the quality of the food, welcoming dining experience, and simple operations driving their decision to diversity with the breakthrough chicken brand.

“My wife and I are thrilled to grow our restaurant portfolio with Slim Chickens and expand the brand’s footprint in Louisiana,” adds Brandon Thompson. “After being acquainted with the restaurant ourselves as customers and transitioning to becoming franchisees, we fell in love with the Southern Hospitality, the quality of the chicken, and how the food is fresh and not prepared from freezer to fryer. Meeting with the corporate team it became clear that Slim Chickens complemented our portfolio well and we are confident the community here will enjoy more opportunities for great food and an even better dining experience as much as we do.”

Backed by the generational franchisee behind AOM LLC., Brandon Thompson grew up with his father who owned two subways. After Rachel and Brandon both graduated from LSU, Brandon went to work for his father and together they opened four more Subways before embarking on his role as a multi-unit operator in the fast-casual space. Rachel went on to receive a doctorate of Pharmacy degree from ULM and a post-doctorate residency. Today he and his wife own Freddy’s in West Monroe, Louisiana with nine more in development, three Walk-on’s in Alexandria, Louisiana, Texas, Texarkana, and Fort Smith, Arkansas, and are thrilled to embark on their multi-unit development deal for seven Slim Chickens locations throughout their home state of Louisiana.

The better-chicken brand has opened more than 255 locations across the United States and the United Kingdom. With more than 1,200 locations in development, the brand’s momentum shows no signs of slowing down.

“We are thrilled to partner with AOM LLC. and the Thompsons as they expand our better-chicken brand with more members of the community in Louisiana,” says Sam Rothschild, COO of Slim Chickens. “People in Louisiana already know and love us and we are grateful for established operators like AOM LLC., who are just as passionate about granting more opportunities for families and busy professionals to enjoy our mouthwatering chicken tenders, wings, and signature Jar desserts. As we continue to grow our footprint with new and current franchisees across the U.S. and overseas, we are thankful for reputable operators who value the support system we have in place to ensure our franchisees, employees, and guests can enjoy a consistent and exceptional restaurant experience.”
