Slim Chickens of Middle Tennessee donated $18,000 in gift cards on January 30 to those displaced by tornados in the Hendersonville and Clarksville Tennessee communities.
$10,000 was presented at the Hendersonville Rising Benefit Concert, which was organized by Hendersonville Hometown Jam and the Hendersonville Chamber of Commerce to support rebuilding after a devastating EF2 tornado damaged about 275 of the city’s buildings in December. Nearly half of those buildings were homes.
$8,000 was donated to YAIPak in Clarksville Tennessee to support 250 homes destroyed by the EF3 tornado on December 9th.
“As proud members of the Hendersonville and greater middle Tennessee communities, we at Slim Chickens of Middle Tennessee and the entire Houchens Food Group family of brands feel deeply connected to every resident here,” says Harold Wallace, Director of Operations. “This donation is more than a gesture of support; it’s a testament to our commitment to stand with our neighbors in times of need. We are honored to contribute to the rebuilding efforts and to rally alongside a community that has shown incredible strength and resilience. Together, we’ll rebuild stronger than ever.”
Houchens Food Group, a subsidiary of Houchens Industries, is the franchisor that owns and operates Slim Chickens of Middle Tennessee, which serves the Hendersonville, Clarksville, Mt. Juliet and Murfreesboro communities.
As part of this relief effort, Slim Chickens invites the local community to get involved. For every heart-shaped chicken-and-waffle meal purchased during the month of February, $1 will be donated back to the Hendersonville Chamber Foundation and YAIPak in Clarksville Tennessee.
“At Slim Chickens, we’re committed to the communities we serve, and the situation in Middle Tennessee is no exception. Our hearts go out to everyone affected by the impacts of the tornado,” adds Chief Operating Officer Sam Rothschild. “We proudly support our Middle Tennessee locations in these efforts to give back to the community in need. Our entire team is profoundly moved by the strength and solidarity shown by our franchisees and the wider Hendersonville & Clarksville communities.”
