Smashburger continues its Westchester County expansion with the opening of its newest restaurant located at the Midway Shopping Center, 913 Central Park Ave., Scarsdale, New York, on Monday, December 9. Owned and operated by Smash Partners, Smashburger brings its burgers that are smashed fresh, served along with its Haagen-Dazs shakes, and regional menu items crafted to please locals’ palates. The company has hired 45 local team members to staff its new location.

Smashburger will feature a regional menu created with regional flavors and tastes in mind.  Its menu includes the New Yorker with New York Cheddar, garlic grilled onions, spinach, tomato, and a peppercorn garlic aioli on a brioche bun, and other favorites like the Classic Smash Burger, made with American cheese, smash sauce, ketchup, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and onion on an egg bun; Avocado Club Chicken Sandwich made with avocado, Applewood-smoked bacon, lettuce, tomato, ranch dressing, and mayo on a multi-grain bun; and its Smashfries tossed with rosemary, olive oil, and garlic.

“We are excited to continue our expansion throughout the area with our new Smashburger located in Scarsdale,” says Rich Greenstein, a partner with Smash Partners. “Our White Plains location has been very well received. We look forward to offering the same excellent service and top-notch burgers, fries, and shakes in the Scarsdale area and beyond.”

Smash Partners’ partners Rich Greenstein, Howard Novick and, Ronnie Portnoy were recently named as 2013 recipients of Smashburger’s Franchisee of the Year Award. The award recognizes the franchise group nationwide that exemplifies excellence in all areas, demonstrating a drive for success, passion for the brand, extraordinary customer service, and attention to detail. Smash Partners currently operates three additional Smashburger locations in Westchester County, New York, and has plans for six more restaurant openings in Westchester and the greater area including the Bronx, Manhattan, and Fairfield County, Connecticut between now and 2014.

“In every Smashburger market, we explore what consumers enjoy eating and then bring those tastes and flavors to our menu in an innovative way,” says Smashburger founder and chief concept officer, Tom Ryan. “Guests will be excited about the unique burger, chicken sandwiches, and salads we’ve created. Additionally, the extensive operations experience of Smash Partners through their work with Dunkin’ Brands is a great asset for Smashburger as we continue to expand in New York.”

At Smashburger, the secret is in the smash. It starts with 100-percent Angus beef and is smashed on a 400 degree flat grill to sear in the juicy flavor. To further the better-burger experience, the burgers are served on toasted artisan buns and topped with a selection of produce, cheeses, and condiments.

Smashburger is more than just burgers. Customers can also enjoy a selection of marinated grilled chicken sandwiches and tossed signature salads, along with a variety of sides including rosemary and garlic–seasoned Smashfries, Haystack Onions, and Veggie Frites, which are flash-fried and seasoned carrot sticks and green beans. The restaurant will also serve Häagen-Dazs shakes and Stewart’s root-beer floats in frosted mugs.

“We recently opened our 243rd restaurant and are now in four international countries,” says Scott Crane, president and CEO of Smashburger. “We saw the consumer trend in demand for quality burgers in the fast-casual segment a few years ago. Our timing to introduce Smashburger couldn’t have been better.”  Opening its first restaurant in 2007, Smashburger reports that growth and demand in the better burger segment has never been stronger.  “We are especially proud to be working with a great franchise partner like Smash Partners who operate some of our highest performing restaurants. His team has brought tremendous franchise development and operating experience to Smashburger,” Crane says.
