    Something Old, Something New for A&W's 90th

    A&W Restaurants, headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky, continued its 90th anniversary celebration by introducing four exciting new products to their Sweets & Treats line and an online promotion where consumers can win cash and receive free samples of the new products on Wednesdays in designated markets.

    The iconic A&W Restaurants brand, which pioneered the drive-in concept and set the standard for unique tasting “treats” with its fresh A&W Draft Root Beer and Root Beer floats, is rolling out four new Sweets & Treats:

    • Blendrrrs, which features real candy pieces
    • Smoothee, made with real chunks of fruit
    • Slushee, made with real fruit juice
    • Limeade, with real lime

    The new drinks will be rolled out in Wisconsin markets of Green Bay, Madison, and Lacrosse, Wisconsin; Flint and Rochester, Michigan; portions of Minneapolis, Minnesota; Missoula, Montana; Eugene and Portland, Oregon; Fresno, California; Spokane and Yakima, Washington; and Tulsa, Oklahoma.

    The new menu items will be supported through TV, print, and point-of-purchase materials at the restaurants. Customers can enjoy free samples of Slushees in designated markets 2-4 p.m. Wednesdays, and go online to , where customers can enter to win $100 a day for 100 days.

    The new A&W menu items will join such All American Classics as its famous A&W Original Draft Root Beer, Papa Burger, Coney Dog, and the one-of-a- kind Root Beer Float. Earlier this year, the company announced a new drive-in concept.

    “Thousands of Americans can recall an A&W experience such as their first frosty mug of A&W Draft Root Beer,” says Tim Matis, A&W Restaurants' director of marketing. “We continue to offer our consumers menu items that will provide them with a memorable experience.”
