Sonic Drive-In (Nasdaq/NM:SONC), the Oklahoma City-based restaurant operator and franchisor, today announced the recent election of three new board members and the re-election of two current members to its Board of Directors. Federico F. Pena, Margaret M. Blair and Pattye L. Moore are the newest members of the board.

Pena, Managing Director of Vestar Capital Partners, previously held the positions of U.S. Secretary of Energy, U.S. Secretary of Transportation and Mayor of Denver. Pen?a received his B.A. and J.D. from the University of Texas-Austin.

Dr. Blair, visiting professor, Georgetown University Law Center, and research director, Sloan-GULC Project on Business Institutions, serves on several boards and commissions across the country. She attended the University of Oklahoma for her B.A. and is a graduate of Yale University with a Ph.D., M. Phil. and M.A. in Economics. Blair has written several books and articles covering a variety of business and psychological topics.

Moore is executive vice president-Sonic Corp. She joined Sonic in June 1992 as vice president-Marketing and was promoted to senior vice president-Marketing and Brand Development in September 1995. Moore was named to her current position in January 2000. She holds a B.A. in journalism/public relations from the University of Oklahoma.

Clifford Hudson, chairman and chief executive officer-Sonic Corp., and Robert Rosenberg, retired president and chief executive officer-Allied-Domecq Retailing U.S.A., were re-elected to new terms on the company’s Board of Directors. Hudson and Rosenberg have served on the company’s board since 1993.
