Souper Salad, known for its all-you-care-to-eat buffet of fresh salads and made-from-scratch soups, has picked McAllen, Texas, for the grand opening of its newest location and the debut of a new store design for the growing franchise chain. The restaurant, located at 4129 Expressway 83, will open its doors October 24.
The restaurant will be owned and operated by McAllen restaurant entrepreneur Jose Pulido, and marks the first Souper Salad location in South Texas and the 19 location across the state. Pulido, who owned several successful Pizza Patrón restaurants in Laredo, says he was looking to bring something healthy to his hometown, and Souper Salad was the answer for his community.
“I have admired the Souper Salad brand for several years,” says Pulido. “I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to bring this great-tasting, healthy menu to McAllen. I’m excited to be able to offer an alternative for those who seek freshness, variety and value.”
Souper Salad’s menu features a variety of made-from-scratch soups, fresh salads and fruit, delicious breads, baked potatoes, and dessert. Menu items change daily and seasonally so customers can try something new as well as savor old favorites. This fall, Souper Salad will be featuring some of its most popular dishes, including Cranberry Pecan Tossed Salad, Holiday Harvest Soup, and Pumpkin Bread.

The 4,000 square-foot restaurant interior features a vibrant new design for the chain with a contemporary, streamlined look, a state-of-the-art induction cooking kitchen, comfortable seating for over 115 guests and a 28-foot salad bar.
Regular restaurant hours for the new location are 10:45 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
