Starting today, Thursday, March 7, Starbucks welcomes spring with the introduction of two new beverages that feature the flavor of lavender for the first time.

  • The Iced Lavender Cream Oatmilk Matcha features smooth and creamy matcha served with oatmilk over ice, topped with sweet and subtle floral notes of lavender cream cold foam.
  • The Iced Lavender Oatmilk Latte combines smooth Starbucks Blonde Espresso, creamy oatmilk, ice, and the sweet and subtle floral notes of lavender.
  • The launch of the new Iced Lavender Cream Oatmilk Matcha and the Iced Lavender Oatmilk Latte is an example of Starbucks’ product strategy to innovate for Gen Z and millennial customers, and to continue innovating around core beverage platforms with plant-based milk, both of which are popular with customers and support growth.
    • As reported in Reinvention update in Nov. 2023, core beverage platforms – which includes Iced Espresso and Tea – drove 85% of net store sales in North America company-operated stores.
    • Additionally, the tea latte platform – which includes chai and matcha – is growing at nearly 30 percent year-over-year.
    • Cold beverages account for a majority of U.S. beverage sales.
  • Lavender has been one of the most requested flavors by Starbucks baristas, of which the majority are Gen Z.
