The Burger King Foundation, a 501 (c)(3) charitable organization, strives to empower individuals and make education and literacy more accessible. This fall, the Foundation hit a major milestone as back to school season gets underway, awarding nearly $55 million in scholarship awards since its inception in 2000, empowering more than 45,000 students – both Burger King Team Members and graduating high schoolers – across North America. These scholarships allow recipients to pursue and help offset the cost of higher education, enabling access for them to reach their full potential.

The Burger King Foundation’s scholarship application window will open this year on Monday, Oct. 16, and close Friday, Dec. 15. Similar to previous years, scholarships will range from $1,000 to $60,000 USD and will be awarded in the spring of 2024. The Burger King Foundation will be awarding the following:

Three WHOPPER scholarships of $60,000 USD granted to the top overall Burger King Team Member applicants

Six King Awards at $10,000 USD granted to the top Burger King Team Members (one award per region)

Twelve Regional Awards of $5,000 USD (2 awards per region) granted to the most qualified Burger King Team Members in each of the six regions

The Burger King Foundation also awards scholarships in the amount of $1,000 USD to high school seniors and Burger King Team Members from all 50 states

“Many deserving students in North America struggle with paying for higher education, especially as costs are on the rise. Our Burger King Scholars program honors those hard-working individuals and helps provide them the resources to pursue and achieve greatness,” says Katie Repici, Executive Director, Burger King Foundation. “For more than two decades, we’ve been supporting students in the many communities where Burger King restaurants operate, and I’m thrilled we’ll be able to continue on this mission in 2024 and beyond, allowing students to explore their full potential.”
