Tijuana Flats’ Just In Queso Foundation, a non-profit organization that has raised over $3.5 million in support of organizations benefiting children, the military, and communities, announces Tuesday that it will donate $250,000 to Florida Hospital for Children in an effort to help provide healing and hope to children battling cancer. An official check presentation will take place at Florida Hospital for Children on Tuesday, June 19 at 2 p.m. to commemorate the contribution.

In addition to the donation to the hospital, Tijuana Flats’ muralist added several super hero murals to the hospital walls to help make the environment a little more enjoyable for children who are patients or visitors to the facility.

“We are so grateful for the ongoing support and generosity of our friends at Tijuana Flats and their Just in Queso Foundation and for this latest donation.  Their generous gift will help our patients heal and their family members cope more easily with the hardships of being hospitalized,” says Deb Spielman, chief operating officer of Florida Hospital for Children.

“We are very excited to partner with Florida Hospital for Children and the incredible work they do in the fight against cancer,” said Randy Steil, executive director of the Just In Queso Foundation. “This facility is not only aligned with our mission to give back to our communities, but it is also dear to our hearts as one of the nation’s premier childrens’ hospitals. We are proud to make this donation and to add a little Flats mural magic to the facility.”

JIQ’s partnership with Florida Hospital for Children is just one of several initiatives happening within the organization in the coming months. On August 18, 1,500 runners will participate in Tijuana Flats’ Summer Beach Run on Jacksonville Beach benefiting JIQ. In September, Tijuana Flats will begin its in-store hot sauce campaign to give back to organizations making a difference to find cures for both children’s and breast cancer. Finally, JIQ’s “Share the Love, Feel the Music Gala” will take place at Full Sail University on October 13 and will feature a live auction, food, drinks, and entertainment, all of which will benefit the Foundation.

Since the beginning of 2018, JIQ has committed over $400,000 to various people and organizations in need. Additionally, Tijuana Flats employees have volunteered over 1,200 hours this year.
