2/1/01–Tricon Global Restaurants, Inc. (NYSE:YUM) today reported that U.S. blended same-store sales at company restaurants were down 1% for the four-week period ended January 27, 2001. For the period, International system sales increased by an estimated 7%, prior to foreign currency conversion, or +2% after conversion to US Dollars.

For the four-week period, same-store sales increased 8% at Pizza Hut, while KFC’s were down 4%, and Taco Bell’s declined 10%. Pizza Hut’s results benefited from one additional trading day this year versus last year.
