Jamba Juice Company announced today the grand opening of its newest store in Washington, D.C.’s Dupont Circle. The store is operated through a joint venture with international tennis superstar and entrepreneur, Venus Williams.

Williams, a member of the Washington Kastles, D.C.’s professional tennis team, and 2012 Summer Olympian, is a long-time philanthropist and supporter of academic enrichment and sports programs in the Washington, D.C., community.

“We are very excited about the partnership we’ve created with Venus and our expansion into the D.C. metropolitan market,” says James D. White, chairman, president, and CEO, Jamba Juice Company. “Our entry into the D.C. market not only brings our healthy living brand to more customers, it also contributes to the economic growth of the city by hiring local residents and becoming an active member of the business community.”

Store grand opening celebrations kick-off Monday, July 9, 2012, at the Dupont Circle location, 1333 19th Street, NW, from 6 to 8 p.m. Senior Obama Administration officials along with local and national stakeholders, such as D.C. Central Kitchen and National PTA, will join Jamba Juice executives to highlight and promote Jamba’s Team Up for Healthy America and JambaGO initiatives.

Both initiatives are designed to offer parents, teachers, students, government officials, and community leaders solutions for eating healthier and staying active.

“I am thrilled to be in D.C. to celebrate the opening of my newest store,” says Venus Williams, tennis star and entrepreneur. “For more than 10 years my family and I have worked closely with the District government and various community leaders to offer adults and children greater opportunities through education and sports. My partnership with Jamba Juice is an extension of that commitment in the fight against obesity and to promote a healthy active lifestyle.”

On Tuesday, July 10, from 2 to 4 p.m., Williams and Bruce Schroder, president of stores and chief operating officer at Jamba, will host a ribbon-cutting event and officially welcome the public to the Dupont Circle store. Williams will be on-hand to sign autographs and walk the Jamba orange carpet with fans and local supporters of the company.

The Dupont Circle location is the second store in the region opened by the company and Williams in fewer than two years. In July 2011, Ms. Williams joined Jamba team members to celebrate the opening of her first store in the Westfield Montgomery Mall, located in Bethesda, Maryland. The company expects to open an additional store in Union Station later this week and more in the area in the coming year.
