Zapopan is the newest home of Johnny Rockets, and the location will host a special grand opening celebration on March 18 for its first restaurant in the bustling metropolis of Guadalajara.

“Since officially opening at the end of last year, the community has embraced Johnny Rockets’ authentic menu and fun, with visits from local rock bands, professional athletes and everyday shoppers looking for an All-American meal,” says Franchise Owner Carlos Camarena.

“Our grand opening celebration is another way to thank the people of Guadalajara for their warm welcome of Johnny Rockets. We look forward to providing a slice of Americana for locals and tourists for years to come.”

The restaurant will feature signature classics like American Fries, hamburgers, and hand-dipped shakes. The staff will also sing and do the signature Johnny Rockets dance every half-hour, twirl straws and make smiley faces of ketchup.

The Guadalajara location is the first Johnny Rockets opening from Mexican entrepreneurs Juan Carlos Camarena and Jose Manuel Villaneuva who are expanding operations throughout Central Mexico. Last year, Camarena and Villaneuva entered into an agreement to open restaurants in Jalisco and Nayarit.

“We believe the success of our brand in Mexican markets will serve as a springboard to new Franchise opportunities throughout Central and South America, as well,” says Steve Devine, senior vice president of international development for Johnny Rockets.

“There is no doubt that our business model and philosophy translates seamlessly to cultures around the world and we’re excited to introduce our version of all the fun, food and friendliness America has to offer, globally.”

Since Johnny Rockets opened in Mexico City, in 1993, the international restaurant chain has continued to develop in Mexico with locations in airports and coastal resort destinations and has several openings planned throughout the next two years.
