Wahlburgers, the better burger restaurant founded by Executive Chef Paul Wahlberg with brothers Mark and Donnie, announced it will be opening two restaurants in the Pittsburgh metropolitan area. One is expected to open before the end of the year. Restaurant locations are yet to be disclosed.

“I’m a big fan of Pittsburgh. It’s a great city with hardworking people that deserve our best. We look forward to bringing Wahlburgers to the area and seeing the Steelers and Patriots meet in next year’s playoffs,” says Mark Wahlberg.

With Wahlburgers now in several major cities around the country and in Canada, the restaurant is quickly establishing itself among the nation’s top burger restaurants and is attracting a growing and loyal fan base for its chef-inspired menu.  Guests may choose from a variety of tasty burgers as well as sandwiches, salads, vegetarian options and homestyle side dishes such as Tater Tots, Mac n’ Cheese with Smoked Bacon, and Alma’s Classic Macaroni Salad. All burgers are made fresh and topped with house-made condiments—15 in total, including Chef Paul’s signature Wahl sauce, dill pickles, honey-garlic mayo, butternut squash, tomato jam, avocado spread, and more.

“Our menu tells the story of our working class family, who we are and where we come from. That’s why we serve Mom’s Sloppy Joe, tater tots and macaroni salad,” says Paul Wahlberg. “The inspiration starts there, and then we get creative with the highest quality ingredients and new flavor combinations.”

According to Paul, the most popular burger is The Our Burger – topped with lettuce, tomato, onion, “government” cheese, Wahl sauce, and house-made pickles.  Other notable menu items include The Beast—two 5 oz. burgers, lettuce, tomato, pulled pork, house-made blue cheese sauce, pickles, and BBQ sauce, and the Portobello Sandwich—house marinated and roasted Portobello mushroom cap, white cheddar, caramelized onions, sautéed mushrooms, lettuce, tomato, and Wahl Sauce.

In addition to its extensive menu, Wahlburgers differentiates itself from other burger destinations with its split service concept.  Guests can choose to sit down and enjoy full table service, order quick-serve style at the counter, or grab take-out.  Also, Wahlburgers’ full-service bar with widescreen TVs offers a wide selection of wine and beer, specialty cocktails, and an assortment of boozy frappes.
