Wienerschnitzel turns 57 this year and to celebrate, the iconic hot dog chain is offering its world-famous hot dogs for just 57 cents on Tuesday, July 10. Fast food pioneer John Galardi opened his first Wienerschnitzel in Wilmington, Calif., in 1961.
To commemorate nearly six decades of hot-dog-loving fun, the Irvine, Calif.-based chain is offering fans everywhere a special 57-cent price for its World Famous Chili Dog, a grilled hot dog topped with Wienerschnitzel’s secret recipe chili. The special price is valid only on July 10 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. while supplies last at participating Wienerschnitzel restaurants.
There is a limit of 10 hot dogs per customer. Wienerschnitzel’s annual anniversary offer typically attracts tens of thousands of hot dog lovers at its 333 company-owned and franchised stories in 11 states.
“The Chili Dogs are the hot dogs that have made Wienerschnitzel famous and have been on our menu since Day 1,” says J.R. Galardi, president at Wienerschnitzel and son of founder John Galardi. “We recognize this milestone every year by serving Dad’s favorite menu item at a special price. After all, it’s our devoted fans who turned that first hot dog stand into the World’s Largest Hot Dog Chain.”
John Galardi moved to Los Angeles at the age of 19 with a vision to start his own hot dog business. Today, that commitment to a whole new type of fast food has grown to 120 million hot dogs served annually throughout the West.
“Wienerschnitzel holds a special place in the hearts of our fans—many who’ve grown up with us and are now introducing their kids and grandkids to the classic Wienerschnitzel experience,” says Cindy Galardi Culpepper, CEO of Galardi Group, the parent company of Wienerschnitzel. “We look forward to offering up everyone’s favorite hot dogs for generations to come.”
