Biscuitville Fresh Southern recently announced promotions of internal leaders and the addition of seasoned industry veterans to the organization.

In making the announcement, Biscuitville President and CEO Kathie Niven says, “We are overjoyed to celebrate the accomplishments and growth of our valued team members and to welcome new leaders to the Biscuitville family. This level of talent allows us to serve our guests our classic Southern breakfasts in the manner they’ve come to expect.”

Some New Faces, Some New Roles

Kim Avery’s promotion to Vice President of Operations was announced in February 2024. Avery now leads Biscuitville’s field operations with oversight of all restaurants in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. She reports to President and CEO, Kathie Niven. Avery joined Biscuitville in 2020 as an Area Director, and since then has stepped into positions with increasing responsibility. She was named Region Director in March 2022 and became Region Vice President in December 2022. 

Heather Banner was named Area Director with oversight of several Triad area restaurants in February 2024. She joined the Biscuitville family in September 2019 as an Operator with more than 15 years of experience in the quick-service industry. She reports to Kim Avery.

Jason Malone was promoted to Director of Culinary Operations in February 2024. In his new position, he is responsible for managing Biscuitville’s culinary programs and driving innovation. Jason has been instrumental in developing the Quality Assurance Program and purchasing Program at Biscuitville. His contributions to Biscuitville’s culinary innovation over the past four years has been invaluable. Malone reports to Biscuitville’s Chief Restaurant Excellence Officer Jim McCurley.

Stephen Mueller joined Biscuitville in February 2024 as Corporate Executive Chef. In this new role within the organization, Mueller will drive the innovation and evolution of Biscuitville’s culinary systems and assist in expanding upon the company’s current menu and Limited Time Offers. Mueller launched his career as a Sous Chef with P.F. Chang’s China Bistro in Scottsdale, AZ., and went on to become that company’s Regional Culinary Director. After leaving P.F. Chang’s in 2016, Mueller worked as a Task Force Executive Chef at Farmers Restaurant Group in Washington, DC, and later served as a Senior Director of Culinary Operations for North Carolina-based Tupelo Honey Café. As Biscuitville’s Corporate Executive Chef, Mueller reports to Jim McCurley, Biscuitville’s Chief Restaurant Excellence Officer.

Scott McCain joined Biscuitville in April 2023 as Controller, bringing more than a decade of experience in public accounting and another decade in the aerospace industry as Controller and Chief Financial Officer. McCain received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Appalachian State University, earned an MBA from High Point University and is a Certified Public Accountant in North Carolina. He reports to Ryan Hilton, Vice President of Finance and Accounting.

Melissa Schachter is Biscuitville’s Director of Finance, reporting to Ryan Hilton, Vice President of Finance and Accounting. Prior to joining Biscuitville in April 2023, Schachter gained more than 15 years of experience in corporate finance strategy, financial planning and procurement. She has worked in a variety of industries including financial services, real estate, IT, management consulting and contingent labor management.

Charlie Webb joined Biscuitvillein November 2023 as Vice President of People Excellence. Webb reports to Chief People Officer Belinda Kyle and brings extensive experience in human resources to the organization as well as his background as an attorney. 

Scott White joined Biscuitville in October 2022 as Director of Enterprise Applications Information Technology. Reporting to Jeff Archer, Chief Technology Officer, White is responsible for supporting Biscuitville’s current and future tech applications. He came to Biscuitville with 30 years of related experience, including tech support, coding, supply chain strategy, quality assurance, point-of-sale deployment and project management.
