Mo’ Bettahs Hawaiian Style Food is growing its presence in Utah with a new restaurant opening Sept. 25 at 10969 N. Town Center in Highland. The opening marks the brand’s 36th restaurant in the state where its story began nearly two decades ago.
Founded in nearby Bountiful in 2008, Mo’ Bettahs was built on the recipes, traditions and hospitality brothers Kimo and Kalani Mack grew up with on O‘ahu. The brand serves Hawaiian-style plate lunches featuring favorites like teriyaki chicken and steak, kalua pig, pulehu chicken and katsu chicken, paired with steamed rice, vegetables and creamy macaroni salad.
Ahead of the grand opening, Mo’ Bettahs will celebrate with the Highland community during a Friends and ʻOhana event Sept. 24, bringing the spirit of a Hawaiian hoʻolauleʻa to the neighborhood. The event is open to the public, beginning with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 4:30 p.m., followed by complimentary mini plates and drinks from 5 to 7 p.m. featuring samples and merchandise (while supplies last).
“Utah will always be a special place for Mo’ Bettahs because it’s where Kimo and I first had the chance to share the food and traditions we grew up with,” said Kalani Mack, co-founder of Mo’ Bettahs. “Nearly 20 years later, it means a lot to continue growing here and welcoming new communities like Highland into our ʻohana. We look forward to gathering around the table with our new neighbors and sharing a little Aloha.”
The Highland location will be the newest stop on Mo’ Bettahs’ growing map of communities across the country, marking the brand’s 83rd location nationwide. The opening continues the brand’s corporate-led expansion into new and existing markets.
The restaurant will be open Monday through Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. and closed Sundays. Guests can dine in, order takeout or explore catering options.
