Sarku Japan is taking its Teriyaki and made-to-order sushi from mall food courts to the streets of Northridge, California, with the opening of a new storefront Teriyaki and Sushi Express concept. Located at 8491C Tampa Avenue, the store touts the brand promise “Fresh Happens Here.” Sarku chefs prepare made-to-order sushi and signature Teriyaki recipes on a Teppanyaki grill, fresh for guests to enjoy.

Northridge franchisee Brian Huang, a New York City native, worked for a bank in a job he no longer found fulfilling. A loyal customer of the Sarku brand for more than 10 years, Huang felt the opportunity to own a Sarku Japan franchise would offer a new kind of freedom to be his own boss.

“My wife and I are thrilled to be joining the Sarku family as franchisees,” Huang says. “We look forward to the freedom of being our own boss, as well as offering fresh made-to-order Japanese cuisine to the Northridge community.”

In addition to Northridge, Sarku storefronts are expected to open in metro markets such as Chicago, New York City, and Washington, D.C.
