The Gyro Project, a fast-fine Greek restaurant bringing authentic street food flavors to a modern setting, will open its 10th overall location at 600 9th Avenue in Manhattan’s Hell’s Kitchen on Thursday, October 15, continuing the brand’s rapid expansion throughout New York City and the Tri-State area.
The approximately 1,200-square-foot restaurant will feature 14 indoor seats, including window and counter-style seating, and will offer The Gyro Project’s lunch and dinner menus for dine-in, takeout and delivery. Designed with an aesthetic similar to the brand’s newest location on the Upper East Side, the new restaurant will bring The Gyro Project’s contemporary Greek atmosphere to one of Manhattan’s most vibrant neighborhoods.
The Hell’s Kitchen location will feature fan-favorite items including classic gyro pita wraps featuring chicken, pork and lamb & beef; hearty platters served with rice, salad and pita; traditional dips such as tzatziki and hummus; loaded Greek fries; and the brand’s signature Greek frozen yogurt. The location will also become the first in New York City to offer The Gyro Project’s Dubai Chocolate Froyo, adding a popular modern flavor to the brand’s Greek frozen yogurt lineup.
The opening of 600 9th Avenue follows the June debut of The Gyro Project’s ninth overall location at 1260 Lexington Avenue on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. That location also marked the New York City debut of the brand’s popular Feta-Brined Rotisserie Chicken, a family-style offering that serves approximately three to four people and has become a customer favorite at The Gyro Project’s flagship New Jersey location(s).
Founded by childhood friends and restaurateurs George Tenedios and Spiro Kokkosis, The Gyro Project was created to fill a void for high-quality Greek cuisine in New York and New Jersey. Since debuting its first location in Fort Lee, New Jersey, in July 2023, the brand has built a loyal following for its signature pita wraps, mixed grill platters, mezedes, specialty fries, and Greek froyo – all rooted in authentic recipes and bold Mediterranean flavors.

As part of The Gyro Project’s commitment to supporting the next generation of culinary and hospitality professionals, students from Food and Finance High School in Hell’s Kitchen will be invited to a “Building a Brand” session the day before opening on October 14, followed by an entrepreneurship Q&A with George Tenedios. He will share insights from his experience building and growing a successful restaurant brand. The program will give students an opportunity to learn firsthand about entrepreneurship, branding, leadership and the business of hospitality, while connecting classroom learning with real-world experience.
The Gyro Project’s expansion reflects the growing demand for its fast-fine approach to Greek cuisine, combining the speed and accessibility of a fast-casual restaurant with high-quality ingredients, generous portions and authentic Greek flavors. With the opening of Hell’s Kitchen, the brand will have 10 locations across New York and New Jersey, including seven locations throughout New York City and three in New Jersey.
The Gyro Project’s New York City locations include Upper East Side [opened June 2026], Murray Hill [February 2026], Garment District [November 2025], Midtown East [September 2025], Hudson Yards [August 2025] and Upper West Side [April 2025], while its’ New Jersey locations include Northvale [April 2026], Newark [March 2025] and Fort Lee [July 2023].
By Winter 2026, The Gyro Project plans to open additional New York City locations across Union Square and Times Square, further expanding its presence in some of Manhattan’s most prominent neighborhoods and commercial districts.
