Bad Chicken, the locally-owned fast casual chicken concept featuring high-quality smoked wings, juicy chicken nuggets, chicken sandwiches and more has opened their new location at 5014 Ross Ave, Dallas, TX 75206.
The original location in Preston Center is closed with this Lower Greenville/Ross Ave location being the new Bad Chicken homebase.
Bad Chicken now features a large family-friendly patio, an arcade area in their dining room, a revamped menu, alcoholic beverages (beer, wine, cocktails), and a drive-thru.
Owner Bobby Shuey says, “We’re thrilled to offer a new, yet familiar experience at Bad Chicken. We’ll still have customers’ same delicious favorites but with some new amazing additions from Chef Tim. It’s also even more convenient to grab Bad Chicken quickly with our drive thru open all day and into late-night.”
Shuey partnered with Chef Tim Woehr to originally bring Bad Chicken to life. Now, he has revamped the menu with new additions and flavors all made with high-quality ingredients.
Bad Chicken features fresh, never frozen chicken, homemade sauces and made from scratch desserts.
The wings are slow smoked and tossed in any of the 20+ house made sauces or dry rubs such as sweet pepper jelly, bang bang, buffalo atomic, Texas dust and white bbq. Wings come in 5 piece, 10 piece, 20 piece or 40 piece. Nuggets are also available with the same sauce options and can be ordered in 6 piece, 10 piece, or 12 piece either grilled or fried crispy.
If guests are looking for a decadent meal while at Bad Chicken, the “Bomb Bowl” is chicken on top of your choice of curly fries, sweet potato fries, or mac and cheese and topped with one “Bomb Sauce”. The “Bomb Sauce” options include Sweet Mama – tossed in sweet Thai and drizzled with sriracha mayo; Buffalo Bomb – tossed in buffalo sauce and drizzled with ranch; Honey Bang – tossed in honey habanero and drizzled with bang bang sauce; and PB&J – tossed in sweet pepper jelly and drizzled with peanut butter sauce.
Other entrees on the menu include items such as the Classic Chicken Sandwich – fried chicken, tomato, thick-cut pickle, lettuce and mayo; BBQ Salad – chopped lettuce, avocado, roasted corn, crispy tortilla strips, diced tomato, shredded mozzarella cheese, and white BBQ dressing with the option to add fried or grilled chicken for an additional cost; Bad Buffalo – buffalo chicken, mozzarella cheese, and ranch; Smashburger – smashed beef patty, american cheese, bacon, tomato, thick-cut pickle, red onion, lettuce, mayo and ketchup; Chicken Tacos – three white corn tortillas with fried or pan-seared nuggets, coleslaw, pickled red onion and buffalo ranch sauce.
Bad Chicken also features a large dessert menu as owner, Shuey is a dessert lover himself. Shuey says, “My wife and I are dessert addicts so we wanted to create a robust selection of desserts and all made in-house.” The menu offers Cheesecake Egg Rolls with blueberry compote, Churro Donut Holes, Chocolate Mousse Cup, Heavenly Chocolate Cookie, Lemon Ice Box Pie, and Creme Brulee.
Shuey and Chef Tim Woehr opened the test kitchen location of Bad Chicken in November 2022 with the intention of having a wing restaurant in Dallas that could quickly deliver high quality wings with a wide selection of sauces. He wanted to make sure Dallas was ready and willing prior to making any future growth plans. They were amazed at the positive reviews and consumer demand.
Another new addition is the drink menu with beer, wine and cocktails which you can even order at their drive-thru. All cocktails are made with premium alcohol at a price that doesn’t break the bank. Sip on frozen cocktails such as the Frozen Jack & Coke, Frozen Lemonade with vodka, and Frozen Margarita. Other drink standouts include the Blueberry Lemonade Margarita, Henny-Rita – margarita made with Hennessy; Whiskey Smash – bourbon, lemon juice, simple syrup; and the Bad Mutha Clucka – vodka, lemonade, and a splash of cranberry. Try their Bad-A** Old Fashioned that’s served with Komos Tequila and experience an Old Fashioned like you’ve never had before.
Shuey says of the new location, “This is a place where you can come for a quick bite at lunch, bring the kids after a long day of work and let them enjoy the food and games, or even pick up for a large group of friends or family at home! Bad Chicken is not only a fast and easy option but also a neighborhood restaurant with housemade items and a lot of care put into the menu.”
The 2,800-square-foot space features indoor seating for 44 and patio seating for 40. The dining room, patio and drive-thru is open Sunday – Thursday from 10 am – 2 am and Friday – Saturday from 10 am – 3 am.
