Buffalo Wild Wings Inc. announced the opening of its 700th restaurant in the U.S., located in Tempe, Arizona. It is the 17th Buffalo Wild Wings in Arizona. To celebrate this milestone grand opening, the Tempe Buffalo Wild Wings will be executing the company’s signature Free
Wings for a Year promotion to the first 100 guests through its doors on opening day. The sports grill and bar will also hold a drawing at 7 p.m. for seven days to award seven additional guests with a Free Wings for a Year coupon book.
Buffalo Wild Wings opened its first restaurant in Columbus, Ohio, in 1982 and has been growing its presence across the country through franchised and company-owned expansion for the past 28 years. Since the company’s initial public offering in November 2003, Buffalo Wild Wings has been steadily expanding toward its target of more than 1,000 restaurants across the U.S. The company also recently announced that it will be expanding into Canada in 2011, with a growth target of 50 restaurants over the next five years.
“The opening of our 700th location is a significant accomplishment for Buffalo Wild Wings. We’re incredibly proud to reach this milestone, and I thank the entire team for their dedication and efforts to deliver the unique Buffalo Wild Wings experience every day,” says Sally Smith, president and CEO of Buffalo Wild Wings. “We are excited to continue adding new locations that bring our award-winning wings to the Phoenix and Tempe communities as we move closer to our goal of more than 1,000 locations across the country.”
As part of the Tempe opening celebration, the restaurant will donate a portion of sales from its preseason training nights to the Veteran Ticket Foundation, a local charity that gives free sporting event tickets to Veterans, Active Duty Military, and their families as a way of saying “thank you.” The Tempe Buffalo Wild Wings is located at 705 South Rural Road, Suite 101 in Tempe, Arizona, and will opened at 11 a.m. on September 20.
