The new Grilled Sourdough Bacon Cheeseburger is available at participating Burger King
restaurants for a limited time,—October 29 through November 21. To celebrate the launch, Burger King has teamed up with the movie “Shrek,” coming to VHS and
DVD November 2.

The new offering is a quarter pound of beef topped with two slices of Swiss cheese, four strips of bacon, lettuce, tomatoes, and mayonnaise, all served between two slices of grilled sourdough bread.

“Our customers continue to tell us they want variety and new choices,” said Dana Frydman, vice president, product
marketing for Burger King Corporation. “We developed the new Grilled Sourdough Bacon Cheeseburger to meet our
customers’ needs for new great tasting flame-broiled burgers. This new sandwich offers a new taste by
combining grilled sourdough bread with our Whopper® patty served with two long-time
customer favorites—Swiss cheese and bacon.”

The new Grilled Sourdough Bacon Cheeseburger joins the ever-expanding BK menu, which continues
to offer customers a wide variety of mealtime choices.

Burger King has teamed up with DreamWorks
SKG for a “Shrek” a promotion. In television spots featuring all new animation created specifically for the
promotion, Shrek and friends will introduce the New Grilled Sourdough Bacon Cheeseburger. The “Shrek” VHS and
DVD will also be featured in restaurant merchandising materials. In addition, when consumers purchase a “Shrek”
VHS or DVD at participating retailers, they will find a coupon for two Sausage Egg & Cheese Croissan’which®
breakfast sandwiches for $2 at participating Burger King restaurants in the U.S.
