Seeking to leverage its sponsorship of the San Francisco Giants and the popularity of bobbleheads, Carl’s Jr. Restaurants is offering consumers an exclusive set of officially licensed Major League Baseball Players Association (MLBPA) Giants’ player bobbleheads over a five week period at over 100 Carlís locations in Northern California, including San Francisco, Salinas/Monterrey, Fresno and Sacramento.

Consumers will have the opportunity to purchase a new version each week for $3.99 with a Combo meal purchase. To drive frequency and continuity, a display stand will be included with the first weekís bobblehead at no additional cost. In addition to the four bobbleheads of Dusty Baker, Barry Bonds, Jeff Kent and J.T. Snow, there will also be a Giants team autographed baseball featuring facsimile autographs of over twenty players.

“Sports bobbleheads are a huge collectible item right now. Carl’s Jr. is excited to have this exclusive set of bobbleheads available for our guests and Giants fans during the Giantsí march to the playoffs. This promotion will bring fans back week after week to complete their set,” said Renae Scott, director for regional marketing for Carlís Jr. Restaurants.

First introduced in the early 1900’s and popularized again in the 1960’s, bobbleheads have undergone a third renaissance over the past year and been the subject of front page stories in numerous print and electronic outlets including the Wall Street Journal, USA TODAY and CNN. Bobblehead of sports figures have garnered tremendous interest among collectors and attracted bids of $150 or more on Internet auction sites.

The Ostern Sports Marketing Group, Simsbury, CT, handled rights negotiation and production of the promotion for Carlís Jr. and the MLBPA.
