Church’s Texas Chicken is dialing up the heat with the launch of its first-ever Signature Hot Sauce. Pepper growers featured in the Hulu series, “Superhot: The Spicy World of Pepper People,” were given the opportunity to help collaborate and ideate on the development of a new sauce that would pair perfectly with Church’s legendary chicken.
“For more than 70 years, Church’s has been known for its famous chicken, bold flavors and spices,” says Joe Guith, CEO of Church’s Texas Chicken®. “We felt it was time to introduce a new dipping sauce that could punch up the level of heat and flavor even more. Our new Signature Hot Sauce is a perfect complement to our craveable, hand-battered chicken that guests crave.”
Available now at participating Church’s Texas Chicken locations across the U.S., the new Signature Hot Sauce is a mouthwatering combination of heat and sweetness with notes of habanero peppers, red chilies, roasted garlic and flavorful spices. To develop the sauce and its unique flavor profile, Church’s Head Chefs Kevin Houston and Eric Stein worked closely with Bobby McFadden and Aurea de Guzman – two experienced, independent pepper growers and hot sauce aficionados who were featured on Hulu’s “Superhot: The Spicy World of Pepper People.”
“We loved working with Bobby and Aurea who are truly among the most engaging ‘chili-heads’ you’ll ever meet,” says Kevin Houston. “With that dynamic duo in our camp, I think it’s safe to say we have it on good authority that our guests will love the new sauce’s bold flavor and extra kick of heat.”
“Flavor and layers of spice are crucial for a great tasting sauce for those who love heat, and that’s what this new sauce delivers,” add Bobby McFadden and Aurea de Guzman. “We are grateful to have been chosen by Church’s to inspire and help develop this awesome sauce.”
The new Signature Hot Sauce is the ideal complement to Church’s array of spicy offerings and will be included with all meals such as the 8-Piece Spicy Bone-In Chicken or Tenders with one large classic side, four jalapeño cheddar biscuits, also known as our new Cheddapeño Biscuits, and one signature jalapeño, starting at $15.99, or the Texas 2-Piece Spicy Bone-In Chicken or Tenders with a Cheddapeño Biscuit, and one signature jalapeño, starting at $3.49 at participating restaurants.
