Cups Frozen Yogurt, the beach-themed self-serve fro yo concept, announced it will now serve candy.
In addition to 24 yogurt flavors, 50 toppings, and 3 sauces, Cups is rolling out Cups Candy Bar: a designated candy section that will sell bulk candy for 59 cents an ounce. Offering between 40 and 60 different candy varieties, options include gummy bears, Skittles, Sour Patch Kids, Lemonheads, chocolate peanuts, Nerds, and more than a dozen Jelly Belly varieties.
Cups Candy Bar is available in six locations: Westminster, California; Clifton, New Jersey; East Hanover, New Jersey; Yonkers, New York; Nanuet, New York; and Carle Place, New York. Cups Candy Bar will be added to additional and new Cups locations in the coming months.
“Cups was designed to be different from an everyday yogurt bar or ice cream shop. It’s more of a club-like experience. We pump out club dance music at volumes that create a highly energetic vibe," says Rick Barbrick, Cups co-founder. “And what’s a club without a bar? Cups Candy Bar offers guests another reason to come in and experience what Cups is all about.”
Since opening the first Cups in Clifton, New Jersey, in 2010, Cups has taken the frozen yogurt industry by storm, becoming the local spot for teenagers and adults alike who make their own fro yo concoctions.
The Exchange, a Yahoo Finance blog, recently named Cups as one of “The Most Popular Fast-Food Outlets You Haven’t Heard Of (Yet).” With 19 locations in New York, New Jersey, California, and Florida, Cups has signed more than 12 area development agreements representing approximately 30 franchise units.
