Everything is bigger in Texas and that now includes CUPS.
CUPS Frozen Yogurt, the beach-themed self-serve fro-yo concept, signed its first Texas franchise area agreement and the Houston area is first up.
A&M Desserts, owned by a husband and wife team Diljit and Shalini Singh, has the rights to develop additional locations in the Houston area following their first unit.
“We just fell in love with CUPS after visiting one in New Jersey. The concept is very different from all the other frozen yogurt shops out there,” Shalini Singh says. “We are excited to bring the first CUPS to Texas and the Houston area.”
In addition to the Texas agreement, CUPS is also expanding its footprint in California, Florida, and New York.
Following the June opening of the first California franchise location in Torrance, an additional unit in Northridge is slated to open by the end of the year and a lease has been signed for an Irvine location.
Florida will get its second CUPS with a Boca Raton opening by the end of the year. Additionally, CUPS fifth New York location will open in Highland this month.
Since opening the first CUPS in Clifton, New Jersey in 2010, CUPS continues to take the fro-yo industry by storm, becoming a local hot spot for teenagers and adults alike who make their own fro-yo concoctions choosing from 24 yogurt flavors and over 50 different toppings and three sauces.
With 23 locations in New Jersey, New York, California, Virginia, and Florida, CUPS is one of the fastest growing frozen yogurt concepts in the U.S.
Over the past year, CUPS has signed 10 area development agreements representing 45 franchise units.
According to CUPS co-founder Rick Barbrick, CUPS is much more than great frozen yogurt; CUPS was designed around the experience.
“It’s more of a club like experience. We pump out club dance music at volumes that create a highly energetic vibe, a lounge-type design with couches, ottomans, and eclectic murals; and Cast Members with infectiously fun personalities. It’s the complete experience that gives us that edgy vibe versus an everyday yogurt bar or ice cream shop experience,” Barbrick says.
CUPS was created and is owned/operated by The Briad Group, one of the largest and fastest growing hospitality companies in the US. The Briad Group’s entities are: licensed franchisees for Wendy's, TGI Fridays™, Marriott, Hilton and a licensee for Zinburger Wine & Burger Bar. The Briad Group is the largest TGI Fridays franchisee in the world.
