CUPS Frozen Yogurt – That’s Hot, the beach-themed self-serve fro-yo concept, will celebrate the grand opening of its 15th location at 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 15 at Freehold Raceway Mall, 3710 US Route 9 in Freehold, New Jersey. Free frozen yogurt will be offered from 5 to 7 p.m. on August 15.
During the grand opening week, each Freehold customer will be given a “scratch off” card, which contains prizes such as iPhone covers, blankets, pens, glow-in-the-dark wristbands, and CUPS coupons. One lucky winner will receive free fro-yo for a year.
Tom and Judy Calandriello, franchisees of the CUPS Freehold, are New Jersey natives who have a passion for frozen yogurt and giving back to the community.
As a way to show their support for veterans, CUPS Freehold will be donating 15 percent of sales to Vetwork from August 15 through August 18. Vetwork is a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting honorably discharged veterans with limited services to Atlantic and Monmouth counties.
Since opening the first CUPS in Clifton, New Jersey in 2010, CUPS has taken the Tri-State area by storm, becoming a local hot spot for teenagers and adults alike who make their own fro-yo concoctions choosing from 21 yogurt flavors and over 50 different toppings and three sauces.
According to CUPS co-founder Rick Barbrick, CUPS is much more than frozen yogurt; CUPS was designed around the experience. “It’s more of a club like experience. We pump out club dance music at volumes that create a highly energetic vibe, a lounge-type design with couches, ottomans, and eclectic murals; and Cast Members with infectiously fun personalities. It’s the complete experience that gives us that edgy vibe versus an everyday yogurt bar or ice cream shop experience,” Barbrick says.
With 15 locations in New Jersey, New York, and California, CUPS is one of the fastest growing frozen yogurt concepts in the U.S. In the past 18 months, CUPS has signed 12 new area development agreements representing approximately 30 franchise units. Four additional CUPS locations are slated to open in Florida, New York, and New Jersey in the next several months.
