Pal’s Sudden Service is moving ahead with plans to build its second store in Greeneville, Tennessee, by this summer. The free-standing restaurant would be the 22nd unit for the Kingsport-based fast food chain.

Greeneville is home to the only sit-down Pal’s, located in the Greeneville Commons. That location will remain open. In fact, Pals’ President Thom Crosby says he’d like to eventually have three restaurants in the Greeneville area.

“Greeneville is a good market for us,” Crosby says. “Our existing restaurant does well, and we’ve been looking for additional property in Greeneville for the past seven or eight years. Our hope is to have not only the sit-down Pal’s, but a drive-through unit on each end of town.”

The proposed Pal’s restaurant would be located on the east end of Greeneville on U.S. Highway 11E on a lot adjacent to the Chevrolet Dealership. A construction trailer is already on the property, but work on the restaurant can’t start until building permits are approved. Crosby expects that to happen this spring and estimates the store would be open by July.

The new restaurant would be a drive-thru-only unit like the majority of the other Pal’s restaurants and would eventually employ about 45 people.
