While 2020 has disrupted many businesses, the food service industry has felt one of the largest impacts. However, a recent Technomic report predicts sales growth of over 20 percent in 2021 and a recovery on the horizon for brands that fared well in the current environment. Due to its continued success, its beloved menu, and loyal fan base, The 20-unit Flying Biscuit Café, announces it has signed numerous development deals throughout the southern United States, including, Columbia, South Carolina, Chapel Hill, North Carolina, East Cobb, Georgia, Castleberry Hill, Georgia, and Athens, Georgia.
“The pandemic brought a lot of uncertainty to the restaurant industry, but we adapted quickly, increasing delivery services, offering touchless payments and providing additional curbside pick-up options,” says Brent Fuller, Vice President of Operation at the Flying Biscuit Café. “As a brand, we’re proud and grateful to be able to continue our expansion through this challenging time and continue to grow this unique restaurant experience in the Southeast.”
The Columbia, South Carolina, location looks to continue to expand the franchise in the state of South Carolina, by way of franchisees John Robert Barth and Kevin White.
“The city of Columbia is growing drastically and is also home to the University of South Carolina,” shares Barth and White, who have both lived in the area for over 10 years. “Although there are diners in the area, we think that people will really enjoy the variety and quality that comes with The Flying Biscuit Café.”
With the ongoing support for the brand, these new locations are in ideal markets to continue growing the concept. With these agreements, The Flying Biscuit aims to to have twenty-six restaurants open by the end of 2021.
