Honey Dew Donuts is no longer just a morning go-to for coffee and breakfast sandwiches. Now it’s also a lunch spot.
The New England–based company is excited to announce its very first official lunch sandwich, Willow Tree Chicken Salad on a multi-grain croissant.
Made to order, this hearty sandwich is full of fresh, all white meat chicken and savory flavors, layered on a seeded multi-grain croissant.
Both the chicken salad and the multi-grain croissant are brand new items for the chain.
Willow Tree Poultry Farm is locally owned and operated out of Attleboro, Massachusetts, which is not far from Honey Dew Donuts corporate offices.
The chicken salad has been sold in select grocery stores and the Willow Tree Farm retail shop for many years. In the fall of 2012, Honey Dew teamed up with Willow Tree and began offering the sandwich in twelve Massachusetts and Rhode Island shops as a test.
“Willow Tree Farms chicken salad is recognized as a local premium brand,” says Honey Dew Donuts franchisee Gary Lewis. “Our customers can enjoy the local flavor with Willow Tree and our finest bakery products.”
After quantitative and qualitative analysis of the five-month-long test, Honey Dew corporate directors unanimously voted to launch the sandwich chain-wide starting in early April 2013.
“We are thrilled to team up with Willow Tree,” says Richard Bowen, CEO of Honey Dew Associates. “Their commitment to freshness and quality is greatly reflected in their products. This is a very tasty sandwich that we are excited for our customers to enjoy.”
The new sandwich will be available at an introductory price of $2.99 (plus tax) until April 28, 2013.
Media advertising will feature the sandwich on a multi-grain croissant; however, other bread varieties include ciabatta bread, white or wheat wraps, bagel, or plain croissant.
