Yogurtland announces a second year of partnering with Sanrio Inc., the global lifestyle brand best known for pop icon Hello Kitty.
The co-branded merchandise will include multiple items featuring Sanrio’s famous Hello Kitty, Little Twin Stars, TuxedoSam, and Badtz-Maru. Items will be available at participating Yogurtland locations beginning July 10, 2012, through Labor Day weekend.
Each of the four characters will be featured on Yogurtland’s famous biodegradable spoons and four special cup designs will be released with all the characters showcased in a different city.
The Hello Kitty spoon launches July 10 and the cup will feature the glamorous city of Hollywood. TuxedoSam’s spoon will be available July 24 and the cup showcases the art deco-inspired city of Miami. August 7 is the release date for the Little Twin Stars spoon along with the cup that is set in the city of San Francisco. The promotion culminates with an August 21 release of the Badtz-Maru spoon and a cup highlighting the beaches of Honolulu, Hawaii.
“The Yogurtland and Sanrio partnership was a huge success last year, and we are thrilled to be working with such a beloved brand again this year,” says Phillip Chang, founder and CEO of Yogurtland.
“Sanrio and Yogurtland speak to the same core audience and reach a loyal multi-generational fan base,” says Janet Hsu, COO and president of Sanrio Inc. “This co-branded partnership allows for Sanrio’s supercute characters to reach an additional audience in a fun, family-friendly environment.”
Through this partnership, co-branded items will once again be available for purchase at all participating Yogurtland locations. Items will include a Hello Kitty plush dressed in a Yogurtland uniform, key chains, buttons, tote bags, and money coin purse featuring all four characters. Retail prices will range from $2.50 for a tote bag to $13.50 for a Hello Kitty plush.
To celebrate the launch of the partnership, Hello Kitty, Badtz-Maru, and TuxedoSam will make a special guest appearance at the Yogurtland Universal City location in Los Angeles on July 10. From 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. guests will enjoy photo opportunities, free frozen yogurt, and other fun Yogurtland items, while supplies last. Additional launch events will take place on July 24 in Miami, Aug. 7 in San Francisco, and Aug. 21 in Honolulu.
