Steve Phillips, president and CEO of Phillips Foods—a seafood restaurant operator—was selected as a finalist for the 2011 Seafood Champions Award.

Phillips was recognized for promoting sustainability and environmental responsibility in the seafood industry.

First presented in 2006, the Seafood Champion Awards annually recognize individuals and companies for outstanding leadership in promoting environmentally responsible seafood.

Seafood Choices established the award to honor those in the seafood industry whose past and/or present contributions demonstrate a commitment to innovation that leads to change. The winners will be announced at the International Boston Seafood Show.

The following individuals and companies are also finalists for the award: Robert Clark and Harry Kambolis, C Restaurant; Falmouth Fishselling; Phil Gibson, Safeway; Dune Lankard, Eyak Preservation Council/Copper River Salmon; Pacific Coast Shellfish Growers Association; Olivier Roellinger, Relais & Châteaux; and Peter Weeden, Paternoster Chop House.
