Pizza Hut is introducing a new pizza that rewrites the rules on the most-ordered crust type in the industry: Hand-Tossed. The all-new Hand-Tossed pizza from Pizza Hut features a lighter, airier crust topped with Mozzarella cheese and brushed with a garlic buttery flavor.
For an introductory price of $10, customers can order the new Hand-Tossed crust with any toppings nationwide. Pizza Hut is so confident in the new Hand-Tossed crust that they guarantee if a consumer doesn’t love it, the next pizza is on them. The guarantee is redeemable within 30 days of purchase.
“Our new Hand-Tossed pizza has been years in the making, and we believe we’ve delivered the best tasting pizza in the category,” says Carrie Walsh, chief marketing officer at Pizza Hut. “For a long time, consumers have looked at hand-tossed as the ‘white bread’ pizza of the category, and we set out to completely blow up the notion that all pizzas are created equal. We feel so strongly about this, that we’re offering consumers the next pizza on us if they are not completely satisfied with our new product.”
The new Hand-Tossed dough from Pizza Hut is handcrafted then sauced, topped, baked, and brushed with a garlic buttery flavor. The result is a pizza with attributes like varying textures within the crust and cheese sprinkled to the edge, making each pizza different.
Prior to launch, the path to new Hand-Tossed included the largest and most intense training program ever by Pizza Hut.
“It took a lot of hard work to get us to a position where we feel we have the best Hand-Tossed product available today,” Walsh says. “The recipe for this pizza is a game changer for the industry and the preparation by our team members to make each Hand-Tossed pizza one-of-a-kind leads the way in the pizza category.”
Pizza Hut originally introduced Hand-Tossed pizza in 1982. As a category, Hand-Tossed represents the largest share of purchase among consumers nationwide.
