Franchise restaurant locations operated by Restaurant Management Group raised more than $52,000 for the Patriot Foundation to support children of military families and provide college scholarships to children of Fort Bragg, North Carolina, soldiers.
The funds raised at RMG’s 70-plus restaurants came during a 45-day period ending on Veterans Day in which guests who made a donation received a coupon booklet good for free and discounted menu items. All of the proceeds raised at RMG’s restaurants across eight states were donated directly to the Patriot Foundation.
RMG operates Hardee’s and Little Caesars franchise restaurants in Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina, West Virginia, Georgia, Florida, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.
The Patriot Foundation provides educational scholarships that support children of 82nd Airborne soldiers killed in Iraq and Afghanistan, serving soldiers of the 18th Airborne Corps, wounded soldiers of the Ft. Bragg Warrior Transition Battalion, as well as children of current, retired, and former Army Special Operations soldiers. The Foundation has funded scholarships for more than 270 children of these soldiers since 2003.
“The donations increased some 40 percent over contributions received in the previous year,” says Jack Mangan, RMG’s president. Mangan and a group of the company’s individual general managers whose restaurants raised the most money recently visited Fort Bragg and the 82nd Airborne to present a check. They toured the 82nd Airborne headquarters and had lunch with several of the Patriot Foundation’s beneficiaries as well as with troops.
“The Patriot Foundation is extremely grateful for the role that RMG and its restaurants played in helping us support the families of soldiers at Ft. Bragg,” says Chuck Deleot, chairman of the Patriot Foundation. “We look forward to a long collaboration with RMG as we continue to assist the magnificent men and women who are serving and dying to protect our freedoms.”
“We appreciate the support of our Hardee’s and Little Caesars customers for families of our soldiers,” Mangan says. “It’s a top priority of RMG to support the men and women who serve our country and make incredible sacrifices. We’re gratified to see that our customers feel the same way.”
