Slim Chickens announced it has inked a deal to bring seven more locations in Maryland.
Spearheading the new stores is seasoned restaurant operator, DDR Holdings who currently owns two Slim Chickens stores in Maryland. Behind the operation, are the brothers, Darrin and Dennis Atlas, Leonardtown, Maryland natives who built Slim Chickens with the heart and focus on giving back to the community. Working together as partners, the brothers were first introduced to franchising nearly a decade ago with their first restaurant, Firehouse Subs. Since then, they have expanded the business with Slim Chickens which they have seen a tremendous embrace of. From the menu offerings to the southern branding and energy of Slim Chickens to the leadership team, the brand has been an outstanding component of their business portfolio in the Maryland markets. As they grow their business with Slim Chickens, the brothers are looking forward to introducing more residents to the opportunity to enjoy southern hospitality, quality chicken tenders, and mason jar desserts.
“As we looked to diversity and build upon our portfolio, we had researched several QSR chicken brands and Slim Chickens was a standout for us for many reasons,” says Dennis Atlas. “The brand was unique to the chicken segment, and had proven to adapt well to just about any market, and a lot of that we think has to do with the quality of the food and hospitable atmosphere. After our very first location in Bowie, Maryland the turnout was incredible, we had someone come back three times with different people and even ran out of jar desserts the first day…we knew we were doing something right and that we had a bright future with Slim Chickens. We are thrilled to continue to employ good people and serve the community in Maryland, it is a rewarding experience for all parties involved.”
The better-chicken brand has opened more than 255 locations across the United States and the United Kingdom. With more than 1,200 locations in development, the brand’s momentum shows no signs of slowing down.
“Our partnership with the Atlas Brothers and DDR Holdings has been a testament to the time and resources our team has spent to build what our franchise is today,” said Sam Rothschild, COO of Slim Chickens. “We are thrilled to continue to share our name in new markets in the northeast and cannot wait to see how the group continues to thrive with its stores in Maryland. We are so thankful for operators like DDR Holdings who are dedicated to sharing our southern hospitality and cooked-to-order chicken tenders with more members of the community.”
