In conjunction with the reintroduction of 99 cent 7-Layer Nachos, Taco Bell today announced the “Nach-O-Day” New Year’s Eve Sweepstakes where the company asks consumers why Dec. 31 was not their day.

“New Year’s Eve often has many expectations built around it and we wanted to have a little fun with our customers by offering the `Nach-O-Day’ New Year’s Eve Sweepstakes for those willing to share their less-than-festive experience with us,” said Laurie Gannon, director of public relations, Taco Bell Corp.

“So, if someone got stood up, shot down or simply had a dud of a day or night, they could be a winner in the `Nach-O-Day’ Sweepstakes.”

Beginning Dec. 30, 2002, consumers can go to www.tacobell.com for official rules and information on the “Nach-O-Day” New Year’s Eve Sweepstakes and 7-Layer Nachos. Beginning Jan. 1, through Jan. 10, 2003, visitors can tell their “Nach-O-Day” New Year’s Eve stories in 50 words or less for a chance to win $20 in Taco Bell Gift Certificates good for 7-Layer Nachos and other Taco Bell food.

There is no purchase necessary to enter or win. Entrants must be 18 years or older and legal residents of the United States. Sweepstakes is void where prohibited and the odds of winning depend on number of eligible entries received.

“Since `7-Layer’ is a Taco Bell signature item and our 99 cent 7-Layer Nachos are distinctly Taco Bell, we’re confident our consumers will savor the seven great flavors of the new product and enjoy the sweepstakes,” said Gannon.

The LTO (limited time only) product is available at participating locations until Feb. 2 and contains seven great flavors including guacamole, beans, sour cream, red sauce, red tortilla strips, nacho cheese sauce, tomatoes and green onions over freshly fried tortilla chips.
