WaBa Grill, one of the nation’s leading healthy rice bowl chains, announced that its Fresno restaurant is now open for business. Marking the brand’s first location in Fresno and third in California’s Central Valley, the restaurant is owned and operated by Simran Nagra and longtime WaBa Grill franchisee Jerry Bajwa, who operates 21 WaBa Grill locations. The brand has identified the Central Valley as a huge growth opportunity, with plans to open more than 30 locations from Sacramento to Bakersfield. The new WaBa Grill restaurant is located in the River Oak Plaza and is the perfect destination for locals to enjoy a convenient, better-for-you meal in-restaurant or on-the-go.

“After opening more than 20 WaBa Grill locations, I’ve seen the high demand for delicious, healthy and convenient dining options in many markets, and believe WaBa Grill will be a welcome addition to Fresno,” says Bajwa. “This is just the start of WaBa Grill’s presence in the Central Valley, and we are thrilled to introduce its better-for-you options and wide range of freshly grilled proteins to the local community.”

WaBa Grill has long been known for its better-for-you menu packed with fire-grilled proteins, healthy grains, and fresh vegetables. Protein choices are plentiful and include fresh, never frozen chicken, marinated ribeye steak, wild-caught salmon, jumbo shrimp, 100% plant-based Plantspired™ steak and organic tofu. Guests may customize any entrée with a variety of flavorful sauces, including the fan-favorite WaBa sauce. With hearty and healthy options ranging from bowls, plates, salads and Boom Boom Tacos, WaBa Grill serves prepared-to-order food guests can feel good about eating. WaBa Grill also provides everyday value for guests, with affordable options including its Value-Bowl Combo for under $10 and Family Meals. Orders may be placed online, through the WaBa Grill app, or any of the brand’s third-party delivery partners.

Following a successful 2023, WaBa Grill is well-positioned for a strong year ahead. Franchise momentum and expansion fueled WaBa Grill’s impressive 2023, with the brand adding more than a dozen locations to its development pipeline in new and existing markets. The brand is on pace to open more than ten locations in 2024 and is expected to surpass the 200-restaurant milestone before year’s end. To grow its footprint further throughout the Western U.S. this year, WaBa Grill will expand in its existing markets in California, Arizona, Nevada and Texas.
