Yogen Früz opened its third Illinois location at Yorktown Center in Lombard, Illinois, located at the corner of Butterfield Road and Highland Avenue. The grand opening event was held on July 11th and July 12th. The store partnered with the Tri-Town YMCA and donated 10 percent of its opening day profits to the charity, which is organized to help build strong kids, strong families, and strong communities through its specialized programs and services.

“We partnered with the Tri-Town YMCA because it has a proven history of giving back to the Lombard, Villa Park, and Oakbrook Terrace communities,” remarks Jerry Isaacson, one of the principals of Freezer Products LLC, the master franchisee for Illinois. “Yogen Früz has partnered with other local charities for past store openings as well. The Tri-Town YMCA represents a fundamental part of our company’s mission: our commitment to the communities we serve.”

In addition to offering proceeds to charity, the Lombard Yogen Früz opening will include giveaways and two-for-one product offering. The frozen yogurt store is located in the center court on the second floor of the Yorktown Center, next to the food court and Von Maur.

The Yorktown Center Yogen Früz is one of 30 locations expected to open across the U.S. this year. The Canadian-based chain has already opened U.S. locations in San Francisco and two other Chicago suburbs (Orland Park, Schaumburg). The company, which was founded in 1986, is an international franchise success, spanning countries like Canada, Taiwan, Venezuela, and Guatemala, to name a few.

“Over the last four years, natural yogurts like Dannon’s Activia have been the fastest-growing food category in U.S. grocery stores. This has familiarized American consumers with tarter yogurts, and that’s what today’s yogurt stores are delivering,” says Aaron Serruya, co-founder of Yogen Früz. “The timing is right to build a U.S. presence.”
