CREAM, a San Francisco-based dessert franchise that specializes in high quality ice cream sandwiches and other confections, has inked a franchise deal that will bring 13 new locations to various uncharted parts of Northern California, including Fairfield, Vacaville, Marin County, Chico, Santa Cruz, and Napa, among others.
The latest agreement has been signed with brothers Money and Adam Sangha, their brother-in-law Jesse Kalkat and childhood friend Faraz Mahmood, who possess more than 100 years of combined experience with such brands as Papa Murphy’s, Quiznos, Quality Inn, and Jack in the Box.
“This latest agreement underscores the strength of our business model and overall growth strategy as CREAM continues to build its footprint throughout California," says company president Jim Ryan. "Since the opening of our first store in Berkeley five years ago, we've immersed ourselves into the fabric of many of Northern California’s most attractive communities, and we are thrilled to introduce our unique and beloved brand to new markets throughout this region."
CREAM, which is an acronym for “Cookies Rule Everything Around Me,” offers a menu of 20 ice cream flavors and 20 cookie flavors and as many as 24 topping that customers can mix and match, as well as vegan and gluten-free options. While the ice cream sandwiches are the main draw, CREAM also has milkshakes, floats, malts, scoops of ice cream, and other baked goods, such as the Cream Taco—a waffle cone shaped like a taco loaded with ice cream and toppings.
“CREAM is a well-loved brand that is being enthusiastically embraced by thousands of loyal customers across California and beyond,” says Adam Sagha. “It wasn’t just the delicious and affordable product, but the fun-loving and entertaining atmosphere that reminded us of how we like to operate our businesses. We’re thrilled with the opportunity and are eager to develop the ultra-successful CREAM franchise system throughout the region.”
CREAM currently has 12 locations open and operating throughout California and Las Vegas, with plans to expand its national footprint over the next several years. Ryan says 30-40 new CREAM stores will open in 2015, and by the end of 2016, there could be as many as 150 stores nationwide.
