Mama Fu’s Asian House, the Austin-based restaurant concept specializing in fresh and innovative Asian cuisine, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mary Orlando as senior vice president of operations, effective today.

Orlando brings over 23 years of restaurant operational excellence to Mama Fu’s, including extensive experience in senior-level leadership, people development, and succession planning, restaurant-site selection and construction, facilities and capital planning, culinary and catering programing and development, new market entry strategies, and local relationship marketing.

Orlando spent the last 10 years with Noodles & Company, recently serving as vice president of operations, western region, overseeing 140 corporate stores in nine states, and an upper management team of 30. During her tenure, she opened seven out of nine new markets and was instrumental in the development of the catering program. Prior to Noodles and Company, Orlando served as regional vice president of Friendly’s Ice Cream Corporation. There she was in charge of 65 company units in five states.

Orlando has also held leadership positions with Souper Salad as director of operations where she oversaw 42 units in seven states and led the company in comparable unit sales growth, and Einstein Bros. Bagels as regional vice president, where she was responsible for 61 corporate restaurants in four states.
