SweetFrog Frozen Yogurt is expanding its customer reach in Reno with two additional locations previously operated by U-Swirl. The recent takeover is yet another success story tied to sweetFrog’s nationwide acquisition and rebranding strategy, coming on the heels of May’s Hoopla takeover in New York.
Multi-unit franchisees Larry Copponi and Gary Ricco are the perfect pair to expand in Nevada as they have a proven track record at their two existing locations in Reno and Sparks. As co-owners, the pair has made steady progress at both stores with a renewed emphasis on customer loyalty programs, the in-store experience, and a new streamlined production process. And with these two additional locations that re-opened on July 1, 2018 in South Reno, the duo is poised to increase consumer sales by more than 100% and contribute more than two dozen jobs to the local economy this summer.
“We’re excited to welcome new and returning customers to our newest sweetFrog stores,” says Ricco. “People walk into a yogurt shop with a smile, but we want them to walk out with a bigger smile—that’s the sweetFrog brand. This summer, we’re reconnecting with the community, including local high schools, families, and frozen yogurt fans of all ages.”
In addition to a subtle interior design change and sweetFrog signage, the newly acquired stores in Sparks and Reno will feature play centers for families with small children.
“We’re a yogurt shop that likes its customers to linger and enjoy family time together,” added Copponi, who encourages customers to sign up for sweetFrog discounts and deals at any of their four locations:
- Reno – 175 Damonte Ranch Parkway, Reno, NV 89521
- Reno – 2870 Northtowne Lane, Suite 104, Reno, NV 89521
- Sparks – 2838 Vista Boulevard, Suite 102, Sparks, NV 89434
- Reno – 6637 South Virginia Street, Suite B, Reno, NV 89511
Ricco and Copponi offer weekly customer specials at each location, including Free Yogurt Mondays for Moms and Dads. The business partners plan to add more locations to their store roster, a sign of their full commitment to sweetFrog’s aggressive expansion plans.
SweetFrog’s CEO, Patrick Galleher, is excited the frozen yogurt chain’s hot streak shows no signs of slowing down as store owners deepen their footprint in communities like Reno and Sparks.
“We are thrilled to see Larry and Gary fully embrace the sweetFrog brand and its mission,” adds Galleher. “We’re a growing franchise on the fast-track to becoming a household name nationwide. We offer the tastiest summer treat out there, and there’s nothing we like more than giving our loyal customers a place to celebrate family. We expect Larry and Gary to continue their growth and success in Nevada through more acquisitions and rebrands.”
